TESTIMONIALS
"I wanted to become better at my craft. And I wanted a book deal. Suzanne Roberts helped with both. Her candid, insightful, learned, and supportive counsel transformed the way I view and attack storytelling. She’s the real deal--an advocate who can bring out the best in any aspiring author.”
— Clare Frank, author of Burnt: A Memoir of Fighting Fire (Abrams Press).
"Suzanne Roberts layered a foundation for success, teaching me not only solid writing tools, but the process of submission along with the grace of rejection. My narratives are not easy stories to write, proving them quite difficult to read and, often, more challenging to offer feedback. Suzanne handled my painful prose with heart, with a generous dose of craft. Over the years, I’ve saved my early drafts with Suzanne’s handwritten notes, using these gems, still, today, to shape my essays and now, entire collections. I valued her critique, knowing she’d offer heart-felt truth, guidance, and a love for story wrapped in her feedback. Every writer who has gone before each of us, paves a way. Suzanne is one of those writers, trudging through unknown territory. She not only leaves footprints to follow, she reaches back, takes your hand, offers a compass, offers water, offers a north star." — Rebecca Evans, author of Tangled by Blood and editor of When There Are Nine (Moon Tide Press).
"Here's the thing about working with Suzanne Roberts, her expert eye and finely tuned ear for scene and story will meet your pages, no matter how jumbled, and she will echo back to you what you're really trying to say. Not in a way that's prescriptive, not in a way that's coddling either, she'll be direct. And loving. And her guidance comes from the highest level of literary integrity. Suzanne is a bold and fearless truth seeker on the page, and she'll help you become the same. And really, who wants to read or write anything less?" — Rachel Hollon James
